RAINBOW EXOTIC BIRDZ is located in beautiful Dutchess County between New York City and Albany. We have been keeping different species of birds for many years and have been breeding and raising most of them since 1995. Our conservation and breeding efforts focus primarily on beautiful South American and Australian species.
We are a small, private hobby breeder that sells directly to private individuals. We also welcome Pet Store inquiries and will require proof of your business via a copy of your tax id number as well as your state issued license. All birds are not available all the time. This is due to that fact that we are small and have a limited number of birds breeding at any given time. Our birds are raised in our home in a closely supervised and controlled environment. We attempt to band all our baby birds with a seamless metal band by the time they are 10 days old. Should we not get the seamless metal band on them by the time they are 10 days old, they will have an open metal band placed on them that will include all the same information that the seamless band has.
Handfed, abudantly weaned Lineolated Parakeets are our passion. We offer a rainbow of colors when it comes to our Lineolated's. The following are available at one time or another: Green, Dark Green, Olive, Turquoise, Cobalt, Mauve (slate), Creamino and Lutino. Many of our Lineolated's also produce splits to either blue, ino or blue and ino. REMEMBER....female Lineolated's can NEVER be split ino. Do not let someone try to sell you a female that is split to ino.
Scarlet-Chested (Splendid) Grasskeets are also available from time to time. As a general rule, our Scarlet-Chested Grasskeets are parent-raised but there are times when handfed babies are available.
For understandable reasons, we operate RAINBOW EXOTIC BIRDZ as a 'CLOSED AVIARY.' Absolutely, NO VISITORS. We are a hobbyist; not a pet store. You are welcome to come and visit with your new baby during the handfeeding process but you will not have access to where our breeder birds are housed.
